... "Why in the world is MAIG releasing this report now, right before the November elections, when gun owners are galvanized to vote like I haven't seen since 1994? Is Bloomberg deluded enough to think this is going to do anything but further steel gun owner resolve? Is he that desperate for a voice on the national scene, and is he that egotistical about his influence with the masses that he thinks this is going to get him his way?" ... |

It was off to a roaring start, and it ended with more bang for the buck than one might imagine; the 25th annual Gun Rights Policy Conference generated excitement, lots of networking, an d a reminder and warning that the Second Amendment is not just about guns."
"Sunday's program opened with a presentation by the folks at Knife Rights, a fledgling group that is now doing battle with a prosecutor in New York over the Draconian knife rules he has imposed. The organization got full support from those attending GRPC, when its founder, Doug Ritter, told the audience, 'It is our Second Amendment, too.'" ... |

... "... Whether there is in fact an increase in pistol-packin' celebs (and whether the Donald fils or Alexis Stewart count as celebs), what's interesting is the relative ease with which the well-known and well-connected - even reportedly muy caliente-tempered singer Marc Anthony - get permits denied mere mortals. The NYPD screens folks and doles out the right to carry very selectively. Any sort of right shouldn't be subject to such official caprice. And if the police is making decisions, they should take note of Glenn Instanpundit Reynolds' ironic insight that celebs are 'Not a threat to public safety like ordinary Americans getting gun permits . . . because if there’s one thing that celebrities are, it's responsible.'" ... |

Submitter's note: Stereotypes are everywhere in this incident. So much for "dry" firing. Prison is VERY appropriate for this idiot. How many basic rules of gun safety were violated? Yet the "schools" that refuse to teach gun safety love to blame the guns for stuff like this. |
