Carry a Spare

The primary reason to carry a spare is so the defender can appropriately deal with malfunctions, many of which are caused by faulty magazines. That’s because the gun’s magazine is often the weak link in the system and an essential part regularly outsourced by manufacturers. If the follower binds in the magazine, for example, it will prevent the gun from functioning.

Representative Thomas Massie (R., KY) said Thursday that if he were a juror, he would not convict 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse on any of the charges he is facing in connection with the fatal shooting of two people in Kenosha, Wis. during rioting in the city.

“The strongest thing in his favor is actually the video of the event … the video of him running down the street and falling,” Massie said on the Tom Roten Morning Show. “He was fulfilling his obligation to retreat. … He fell down. … He responded in self-defense. … I would not convict.”

The boy was riding his bike while carrying a President Trump lawn sign. The suspect passed the boy, made a U-turn and approached him. She then allegedly began assaulting him because of the sign he was carrying, the release says.

According to the police report in the case, the boy's father, Jesse Rosales, said that the woman hit his son in the head four or five times with her fist. The boy said he was not in pain after what happened but told police a scratch left on his arm "burned."

The sign, a campaign yard sign for President Donald Trump, had been attached to the back of the boy's bike, but he then used it for self-defense, Rosales said.

SOG Pentagon MK3 Tactical Knife

When you employ the knife, you will feel like that you have a firm grip on it due to the thumb grooves on the top of the G10 handle, the grooves on the hilt of the handle under your palm, and the grooves on the bottom of the handle under your middle finger. The finger groove further enhances your grip and I think the grooves on the flipper also helps hold your pointer finger in place if it slips forward. I do wish that the top of the spine on the hilt was flat and had thumb grooves for 1”. But I guess with the thumb grooves and the thumb studs that is sufficient.

DC: D.C. Prosecutions Highlight the Connection Between Gun Control and Racial Disparities

An anti-gun initiative in Washington, D.C., that was backed by Mayor Muriel Bowser is attracting criticism because it has focused on predominantly black parts of the city. The controversy over the program, which prosecutes residents for violating the federal ban on firearm possession by people with felony records, illustrates the tension between two major items on the progressive agenda: strengthening gun control and reducing racial disparities in law enforcement. Those goals are hard to reconcile because enforcing firearm laws has a disproportionate impact on African Americans.

Not so Kyle Rittenhouse. Young Kyle went to Kenosha, Wisconsin, because he was never confused. He attempted to do the job politicians and police have refused to do. As the city’s mayor and the state’s governor watched Kenosha burn, Kyle confronted the enemies of the commonweal. Unlike the flaccid men of the media and in corridors of power, the 17-year-old rose to the challenge, firing only when he was prone and was being pounded by the feral fiends.

ME: Could Collins Continue Imperfect Second Amendment Defense?

Susan Collins may not be one of the most-liked Senators among Second Amendment supporters. That being said, she has posted a mostly solid record in defense of our rights, albeit with some recent blemishes. Still, when all things are considered, Second Amendment supporters ought to give her another six years.

Collins has been in the Senate since 1996, and until this year, she’s generally been winning elections in Maine without breaking much of a sweat, even in years that weren’t that good for Republicans. In 1996, she won her first term with a 5.3 percent margin while Bill Clinton beat Bob Dole by roughly 21 points in that state. In 2008, while Obama won Maine by 17 points, she beat Tom Allen by just under 23 points.

Reinoehl was identified as a potential suspect on social media hours after the shooting. Members of a U.S. Mashals task force tracked him down to an apartment complex in Lacey before Reinoehl tried to flee in a station wagon, Thurston County Sheriff's Lt. Ray Brady told The Oregonian. Officers opened fire in an attempt to stop him.

Reinoehl then tried to flee on foot and produced a gun, Brady said, prompting officers to shoot him. He died at the scene.

Witnesses told The Olympian that Reinoehl began to fire his gun when he got out of the car. The witnesses reported hearing 40 to 50 gun shots.

During the interview, Massie praised Rittenhouse, a 17-year-old from Illinois, for exhibiting “incredible restraint” in not emptying the magazine of his semi-automatic rifle into a crowd of protesters during the Kenosha protests Aug. 27.

“He also exhibited incredible restraint and presence and situational awareness,” Massie said. “He didn’t empty a magazine into a crowd. There were people around him who could have caused him harm, but as soon as they showed any sign of retreat or nonaggression, he did not shoot them. He exhibited more restraint than a lot of the police videos I’ve seen.”

Facebook has been accused of removing a commentator's post about Kyle Rittenhouse, the gunman in last week's deadly shooting in Kenosha, Wis., after the social media giant labeled the incident a "mass murder."

In a Twitter thread on Tuesday, media analyst Mark Dice claimed that Facebook had removed a video that purportedly shows Rittenhouse offering to help a wounded protester.

At a news conference on Monday, Love said that he is considering legal action against the state for what he claimed is unjust termination.

Baker mentions the affiliations of the dead man, but not his assailant. He notes that the problem stemmed from the group that Danielson was affiliated with, not those who brought weapons downtown and shot a man who was reportedly armed only with a can of bear mace.

So since “infringed” is ignored in the Second Amendment, how about we start requiring journalists to have a government issued permit to work in the media? Or charge $150 for a voter registration? Or require a permit to attend religious services that are not government approved denominations?

If repeal the Second Amendment was attempted along the strict procedures the Founding Fathers left us with, it would be difficult. But the weasels we have in government have voided those guidelines and already the Second Amendment is a shadow of what it should be and it is on its way to total destruction if we don’t resist.

Imagine being a Marylander who is facing imminent bodily harm or being threatened by an abusive ex-spouse and then being told you need to wait 30 days to obtain a firearm to protect yourself and your family. Also imagine having your constitutional rights denied for 30 days because of a broken government computer system.

This is exactly what some Maryland Democrats are proposing.

For a second time, a federal appeals court has shot down a New Jersey gun club's attempt to have the state's ban on large-capacity magazines declared unconstitutional.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit again upheld a 2018 New Jersey law that banned magazines with 10 rounds or more of ammunition. The appellate panel agreed with the District Court ruling that the ban was a "reasonable" gun regulation enacted in response to mass shootings, and did not violate the citizen's right to bear arms as guaranteed by the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
