Although gun bills are likely to be vetoed by Gov. Chris Sununu, New Hampshire Democrats are trying to ride the wave of supposed anti-gun sentiment. Before the session even opened, three gun control bills have been publicized. Two of those have already been drafted. One would allow individual school districts to designate campuses as gun-free zones. Saying guns are outlawed does nothing besides letting those with criminal intent know they will face little opposition by attacking there. State Sen. Martha Hennessey had attempted to introduce legislation last year after the Parkland, Fla., school shooting, but was unsuccessful in passing it.

The Constitution requires that all members of Congress must take an oath of office to support the Constitution before assuming office. In order to comply with the Constitution, Congress has enacted federal laws to execute and enforce this constitutional requirement. |
