I went to this newslink fully expecting to see good reason to castigate the prosecutors. I found a guy in the middle of a home invasion, who had the good fortune of seeing the invaders change their minds and run away. He then retrieved a Glock, ran outside and started shooting at their backs.
Sorry, pal, you stepped way over the line, see if the prosecutors will be reasonable about cutting a deal.
The one with no business drawing wages from the taxpayers is the judge. Prosecution asks for $75k bail. Defense asks for $1k. Judge refuses to listen to any arguments on the subject, says everybody on gun charges gets $100k in his courtroom, facts don't matter because he heard the word "gun". |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American... The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state government, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people. — Tench Coxe, Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788. |
