Seattle Council Majority Backs 50% Police Defunding; Time to Arm?

The Seattle Times and other local news organizations are reporting that a majority of the City Council supports “a high-level proposal” to slash police department funding by 50 percent, igniting an uproar among citizen critics.

Sentiment among some respondents to the Seattle Times story can be summed up in two reader reactions. One reader suggested “Everybody open carry.” Another reader wrote, “It’s all good. I live in Seattle and am going to use this as an opportunity to buy a gun, get licensed to carry, and learn to shoot. Without enough police, we are the law and it will be our responsibility to defend ourselves.”

Anyone (including phony conservatives) opposing 50% defunding of these massive city armies is entirely ignorant of just how many constant increases the cops have gotten in the last 30+ years (like all government departments) as they were militarized. For decades the mantra of the fascists was "more cops we need more cops" (remember klinton's "hundred thousand cops" bullsh**) and informed people tried to remind them that police have NO legal duty to protect ANYONE, and that we have a 2nd amendment for a damn good reason, because personal protection is a personal responsibility. But now, so called conservatives are fighting the conservative thing they should be championing: defunding those who WILL be used to confiscate your guns.
