5 Classic Guns Your Grandfather Owned That Have Stood The Test Of Time

Guns are great, but classic guns are amazing.
My grandfather was a hunting enthusiast, even sitting in his huntin’ shed into his late 70’s, shooting deer out the back window and telling stories of growing up on that very same farm he raised my dad on. I can still smell the oil on his old work jacket and the scent of his pipe mixed with the smoky fire from the old pot-bellied stove in that shed.

I do not wish to take anything away from the guns listed in this article. They are all fine guns, but I will take exception to two of the author's statements.

The 94 Winchester was not the ultimate refinement of the design. The Savage 99 and the current production Browning BLR are both superior to the 94 Winchester in almost all respects.

It is not more then likely that someone that served in the US military, even in the US Army, ever carried a Model 1911 Colt, or even a handgun. Handguns were reserved for officers and some support personnel. The vast majority of soldiers carried rifles and never even touched a handgun.
