According to a newly released report by the Giffords Law Center, New Hampshire's death rate by violent acts involving guns is 30 percent below the national average.

Advocates on both sides of the issue agree that the state’s death rate – 10.3 gun-related deaths per 100,000 people -- is still too high, but both differ greatly on what's at its root.

On the heels of the New Hampshire Senate upholding the governor's veto of three gun-related bills, advocates in favor of regulation said their concerns about safety begin with how easy it is to get a gun in the Granite State.

There was a time when one could go into a hardware store or gun store, buy any number of guns and walk out without so much as showing your ID. And we didn't have the problems we have today.

It's not the guns stupid.
