Apparently, a white police office can no longer arrest a black person.
Not mentioned in this article, but included in a longer article in the local newspaper is that a police supervisor on the scene gave the officer authorization to make the arrest. The officer was suspended without pay and plans to fight the charges in court.
This entire incident appears strange. Time will reveal more answers.
