Last week, a Florida senate committee advanced an NRA-backed bill that one critic dubbed a “gang members protection” act, since it would make it harder for the state to convict killers and others who claim self-defense. Right now, murder charges are handled the way most other criminal charges are handled. The state charges someone with murder. Then, at trial, the defendant is free to offer whatever defense he or she wants – whether it’s a claim of innocence, mental illness, self-defense or what have you. |

'Gang Member Protection Act'? Really?
Here, let me feed your own philosophy back to you, and you tell me how it tastes:
"Better for 1000 guilty men to go free than for one innocent man to be convicted."
How's THAT work for ya? HAH???? |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
Today the taxing power, rather than chattel slavery, is the instrument by which the parasitical element of the population subsists. And that element, which includes politicians, panics at the slightest reduction in the state's power to plunder. Once you start liberating taxpayers, even a little tiny bit, nobody knows where it may end. —Joseph Sobran |
