In anger and pain, he lashed out at someone who was not responsible, in any way, for the evil act of another, and now he decries the consequences. Would he sue the hardware store if his daughter had been killed with a hammer? ...a sporting goods shop if she'd been beaten with a baseball bat?
Emotional pain is a good motivator for action, but the action must be logical, rational, and just. Justice is never served by allocating responsibility for evil acts to the innocent. |
