How many readers assumed that the “Fox anchor” would be … Shepard Smith? Nope — in this case it’s Minnesota’s own Gretchen Carlson, who wants action taken by Congress to reinstate an assault weapons ban in the wake of the terrorist attack in Orlando on Sunday morning. “Yes, the Orlando massacre was terror,” Carlson told her audience last night, “but there’s no doubt that Omar Mateen was able to kill so many people because he was firing an AR-15, a military style assault weapon, a weapon easier to buy in the state of Florida than buying a handgun.” |

She feels it was the right thing to do. Hey Gretchen what is an assault weapon? You can bet she has no idea. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
"Secrecy is the keystone of all tyranny. Not force, but secrecy ... censorship. When any government, or any church, for that matter, undertakes to say to it's subjects, 'This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know,' the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives. Mighty little force is needed to control a man whose mind has been hoodwinked; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, a man whose mind is free. No, not the rack, not fission bombs, not anything. You cannot conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him." --Robert A. Heinlein, "Revolt in 2100" (Pg. 68-69, Baen Books paperback edition, 1999 printing) |
