A dancing FBI agent who accidentally fired his gun, striking a man in the leg after doing a backflip at a Denver bar in June will avoid jail time after pleading guilty Friday to third-degree assault.
Chase Bishop, 30, struck a plea deal with prosecutors and was sentenced to two years of probation, the Denver Post reported. He also must pay more than $1,600 in fines and court costs.
FBI spokeswoman Kelsey Pietranton declined to say if he would continue to work at the agency.
Submitter's note: Special treatment for only one. |

God I hate it when the lame stream press calls a negligent shooting, an "accidental" shooting. The FBI standard issue pistol is a Glock 22. That gun will NOT fire unless your finger is inside of the trigger guard, squeezing on the trigger. This gun did NOT fire when it hit the deck. It fired when the poorly trained FBI dude picked it up off of the floor. It is not rocket science to see this was not accidental, rather it was negligent. |
