For an hour and a half after firing a gun inside the high school where he worked, a Bay County Sheriff's deputy played dumb.

Going a step further, he tried to conceal his deed from investigators by taking the bullet that had struck a teacher in the neck and getting rid of it.

This information is contained in reports written by Michigan State Police troopers who investigated the November incident that took place inside the Bay City Western High School and Middle School building at 500 W. Midland Road in Auburn.

The reports state Deputy Adam J. Brown, the school's resource officer, at about 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, fired a .38-caliber Sig Sauer pistol while in a classroom.

The deputy wasn't playing dumb; he was born dumb!

This is a prime example of why just giving guns to police would not end the “gun violence” issue, this deputy works in a school and feels the need for two backup weapons. I don’t even know how to describe the stupidity, arrogance, amorality, and just plain carelessness of what he did in terms of not following the four rules of gun safety and then lying about it. This deputy should have the book thrown at him and if he has committed a felony then have to serve time and deal with a lifetime inability to own or possess a firearm. I have no sympathy for a gun owner that would do something like this and substantially less for a law enforcement officer that has shown this level of incompetence with a firearm.

This guy was playing with his gun in a school and pulled the trigger. If it was in the holster where it belonged nothing would have happened. Then he didn't have the balls to admit what he did. So now he is on paid vacation when he should be in jail or at the least out on bail.

The charge is reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. Most likely it is a felony. Every state will have some form of this crime on the books. If he skates, it is only because he is a cop and the prosecutors look the other way.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Reporters today are far removed from America's founding values and are alarmed and contemptuous of gun owners as dangerous lower classes. — HENRY ALLEN, WASHINGTON POST
