I support the Second Amendment.
Despite what you may hear, almost everyone does.
That’s because it is part of the Constitution, and it would be hard to find any American who does not support the Constitution. It contains seven original articles and 27 amendments, and virtually every American supports all still in effect — including the Second Amendment. |

These "I support the Second Amendment" yahoos don't get the main point: Laws that they say will impede loonies and criminals from getting their hands on guns fail miserably in achieving their stated purpose, but they DO impede peaceable, law-abiding citizens from getting THEIR hands on them.
And that is an unacceptable prior restraint on a fundamental right.
I've been diligently searching for over half-a-century, but I still can't find "but" or "except" in the Second Amendment. |
