A man found with a stash of 21 firearms in a storage locker, including a loaded Glock 9mm handgun stolen from the private car of an off-duty Clackamas County sheriff's deputy, was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in federal prison. Donavan Troy Nordstrom, 47, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine. A charge of illegally having a gun as a felon was dismissed as part of the plea agreement. |

"A charge of illegally having a gun as a felon was dismissed as part of the plea agreement."
The felon in possession of a firearm was good for another 10 years in prison.
One more example that gun laws only apply to law abiding citizens. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
We'll take one step at a time, and the first is necessarily - given the political realities - very modest. We'll have to start working again to strengthen the law, and then again to strengthen the next law and again and again. Our ultimate goal, total control of handguns, is going to take time. The first problem is to slow down production and sales. Next is to get registration. The final problem is to make possession of all handguns and ammunition (with a few exceptions) totally illegal. — Pete Shields, founder of Handgun Control, Inc., New Yorker Magazine, June 26, 1976, pg. 53 |
