On Sunday, New York County District Attorney Cy Vance suggested Republican efforts to pass national reciprocity for concealed permit holders helps the Islamic State. Speaking about Rep. Richard Hudson’s (R-NC) national reciprocity legislation–HR 38–Vance said, “this bill is supported, I’m sure, by ISIS.” Vance said these things during an interview on AM 970 and the The Hill quoted Vance, saying, “It would be completely legal for a person to bring a loaded gun or guns in New York as long as it was legal to possess them in the person’s home state. A guy from Idaho, where there’s no permitting requirement whatsoever, could carry his gun into New York city loaded, into Times Square.”

Boy am I dumb. I never realized ISIS members and other evil doers went to Academy Sports or other FFL holders and filled out a 4473 and obtained their weapons the same way us ordinary ****did. (/satire off). |

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.— Benjamin Franklin Historical Review of Pennsylvania. [Note: This sentence was often quoted in the Revolutionary period. It occurs even so early as November, 1755, in an answer by the Assembly of Pennsylvania to the Governor, and forms the motto of Franklin's "Historical Review," 1759, appearing also in the body of the work. — Frothingham: Rise of the Republic of the United States, p. 413. ] |
