At this writing, there have been over 1,500 gun-related homicides in America since the Las Vegas massacre on October 1, 2017 when 58 people were killed and 546 wounded, right on track with the national average of 1,000 gun deaths per month for the last two years. Now that we have your attention, let’s consider the case made by the NRA, its Congressional hired hands, the majority of the Supreme Court, and various right wing pundits who claim the Second Amendment is not simply about state militias but guarantees the unfettered right of everyone to own, carry, trade and eventually shoot someone with a gun.

Good grief, Ed Asner wrote this. The well known actor is a self avowed socialist.
This nis another libtard screed promoting the debunked idea that the 2A applies only to a select militia. It differs only in it uses Madison's original version of the amendment to try to prove the claim
Sorrily while Madison's original is longer and somewhat clumsier than the final draft, it conveys exactly the same meaning, even using the phrase "the right of the people."
A specious lie, just in another form.

And the Progressive Paddlewheel takes yet another scenic cruise down De Nile.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American... The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state government, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people. — Tench Coxe, Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788.
