"Legislation regarding firearms always brings strong opinions and debate.
The Second Amendment, obviously, has overwhelming support in West Virginia."

"The Firearms Act of 2015, Senate Bill 347, passed with broad support by the West Virginia Legislature, but it was vetoed by Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin on Friday. ..."

"The West Virginia bill would have allowed anyone age 21 and older who is a West Virginia resident and who can legally own a firearm to conceal carry the weapon without a permit. The bill does away with the permit process.
We believe Tomblin — like so many others in the state — has legitimate concerns about the bill, and we hope they are considered carefully when the bill is taken up again." ...

Evidently, the "right decision" includes these logical steps:

1 - Ignore the fact that criminals will disobey the law. That's what they do.

2 - Ignore the fact that non-criminals will, reluctantly, obey the law, even when their own safety is compromised, and won't have arms for defense.

3 - Prohibit the law-abiding from having the tools at their disposal to respond to threats to their well-being.

4 - Disregard the Supreme Court decision confirming that LEOs have no duty to protect individuals.

5 - Disregard the fact that the PoPo can't be everywhere and everywhen even if they were to feel inclined to provide individual body guard service to each citizen.

6 - Accept the insanity that "the public" isn't made up of individuals.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
No human rights can exist without property rights. Since material goods are produced by the mind and effort of individual men, and are needed to sustain their lives, if the producer does not own the result of his effort, he does not own his life. -- Ayn Rand
