Dr. Paul Stromberg at Carilion Clinic's Emergency Medicine department says guns aren't a political issue, they've become a public health crisis. "Just 2016 alone, there have been nearly 230 accidental shootings of children under the age of 11," pointed out Stromberg.
"And I'm not against the second amendment. I'm saying if you choose to have a firearm, which is certainly within your right, just make sure you're smart about how you store it," said Stromberg.
Aaron Cochran, the manager at Trader Jerry's in Salem echoed that, saying "If a firearm's not being used, it should be unloaded, and if you're not around and in control of the firearm, it should be unloaded." |

An otherwise decent article was debased by the good Doctor's Public Health Crisis quote. 230 children killed by guns across the entire population, how many were killed by prescription drugs given out like candy by Doctors. There are a LOT more gun Owners than Doctors yet the Doctors are the bigger hazard with their ink pens and bad handwriting. Where is his plea for adults to lock up their prescription drugs? |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She well knows that by one enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standards of freedom. — JOHN QUINCY ADAMS (1821) |
