I support the Second Amendment.
Despite what you may hear, almost everyone does.
That’s because it is part of the Constitution, and it would be hard to find any American who does not support the Constitution. It contains seven original articles and 27 amendments, and virtually every American supports all still in effect — including the Second Amendment. |

These "I support the Second Amendment" yahoos don't get the main point: Laws that they say will impede loonies and criminals from getting their hands on guns fail miserably in achieving their stated purpose, but they DO impede peaceable, law-abiding citizens from getting THEIR hands on them.
And that is an unacceptable prior restraint on a fundamental right.
I've been diligently searching for over half-a-century, but I still can't find "but" or "except" in the Second Amendment. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern peoples to have arms. History teaches that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so. Indeed I would go so far as to say that the underdog is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty. So let's not have any native militia or police. German troops alone will bear the sole responsibility for the maintenance of law and order. — Adolf Hitler, April 11, 1942.
