Nancy Taylor is a gun safety advocate living on the West Coast.
Last year, I sent a donation of $358.16 to the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. The amount was the sum of money that I received after selling my Ruger revolver.
I never really wanted to own the revolver, but my husband thought I should be able to protect myself if someone entered our home when he was not around. I had my concerns about having the gun, but as anyone who's ever been married will tell you, sometimes you just know when you’re not going to win. He persisted, and I relented. |

While I have sympathy for this lady's loss, her husband would have had other choices of how to commit suicide even if he'd been denied guns. Also, up to 1,000,000 Americans defend themselves, lawfully, with firearms every year. The idea that gun ownership is more dangerous to the owner than useful has been proven false in more than one scientific study. |

First post apparently vanished in the innernetz twilight zone.
I sympathize with this lady's loss, but her husband had other choices on how to kill himself even had he been denied a gun. And gun ownership is A NET POSITIVE. Up to 1,000,000 people each year defend themselves with guns. |

This lady is not a gun safety advocate. She is a misguided liberal that wants to take our guns away.
I can see why her husband shot himself if he had to put up with her stupidity. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? [...] The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!" —Alexander Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago (Chapter 1 "Arrest") |
