A rise in shootings on college campuses has added a new front in the gun debate, centering on this question: does it hurt, or help, to have more armed people at school? Eight states allow people to carry concealed weapons on the grounds of public colleges and universities, based on the belief that criminals will be less likely to open fire if they know they might be confronted by someone else with a gun. Texas became the latest this year, and there is a growing movement to expand the list.

Yet another anti gun article filled with lies, mistakes, and strawman arguments, and with no means to respond. We see increasingly that such blather prohibits comments as they would immediately call out the bias and one sided erroneous claims being made. |

Exactly. Why would the left ever allow anyone to argue any point but its own? People might learn the truth. |

"There is a growing movement to expand this list." Once freedom takes hold, it's hard to contain. |

TO REMEMBER |
No kingdom can be secured otherwise than by arming the people. The possession of arms is the distinction between a freeman and a slave. He, who has nothing, and who himself belongs to another, must be defended by him, whose property he is, and needs no arms. But he, who thinks he is his own master, and has what he can call his own, ought to have arms to defend himself, and what he possesses; else he lives precariously, and at discretion. — James Burgh, Political Disquisitions: Or, an Enquiry into Public Errors, Defects, and Abuses [London, 1774-1775]. |
