Petraeus’ new group is called the Veterans Coalition for Common Sense, and it’s attracting support from other former military leaders, namely former CIA Director Michael Hayden and retired Adm. Thad Allen. There are 23 veterans in total on the advisory committee. The goal of the group is to push legislation that mandates stronger background checks for gun purchases, though Mark Prentice, communications director for Americans for Responsible Solutions, affirmed the importance of the Second Amendment.

He showed poor judgement with the bimbo and lied about it, and he is showing poor judgement by this action.
There is no such thing as "common sense" gun control. That is just a moniker invented by the anti-gun liberals.
The criminals already get guns regardless of laws, and will always get guns regardless of additional laws.
These so called "common sense" laws only harass law abiding citizens.
If Obama actually wanted to reduce gun related crime and murders, all he has to do is enforce the existing laws against felons having guns, and straw purchases. That he won't do so and continues to attack law abiding citizens speaks volumes. |

Is there any doubt now that there are those in the upper echelon of command that would have no problem following orders to confiscate guns? |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
To have no proud monarch driving over me with his gilt coaches; nor his host of excise-men and tax-gatherers insulting and robbing me; but to be my own master, my own prince and sovereign, gloriously preserving my national dignity, and pursuing my true happiness; planting my vineyards, and eating their luscious fruits; and sowing my fields, and reaping the golden grain: and seeing millions of brothers all around me, equally free and happy as myself. This, sir, is what I long for. -- General Francis Marion, American War of Independence, Georgetown, SC [Source: 'Marion, The Life of Gen. Francis Marion' by M. L. Weems, Ch.18] |
