Unfortunately, the conversation about gun control only arises after an incident where several people are killed at one time. But what about the 90 people who the Center for Disease Control states are killed on average each day in the U.S. (excluding suicides)? Even if we take mass shootings out of the equation, Everytown Research found more than 10,000 people still die each year from gun deaths in this country.

In the immediate aftermath of such events, talk about banning assault rifles is also sensationalized, but most gun deaths in the U.S. actually occur by handguns.

No way to leave a comment naturally, but this article is full of errors, speculation, and outright lies.
For example, that CDC 90 deaths a day excluding suicides is flat wrong. It equates to almost 33,000 total which is the current number including suicides which are two thirds of the total. And most of the rest are inner city gang violence. Barring those two components the rest are in the neighborhood of 8 or 10 a day in a country of 330 million people.

AND: CDC says more than 24,000 die EVERY YEAR(!) from ...

LIGHTNING STRIKES! WOWWWW... Why cant we pass more 'common-sense' Lightning Legislation BANNING -or at LEAST HEAVILY-REGULATE- SUCH SENSELESS, OUT-OF-CONTROL LIGHTNING in AMERICA!! THATs MORE THAN 65 LIVES/DAY THAT WULD BE SAVED!!!

PLZ SUPPORT 'Everytown for LIGHTNING SAFETY' and ELIMINATE these senseless Deaths. : /

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Some writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins ... Society is in every state a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one. — THOMAS PAINE
