The Second Amendment is outdated and was enacted for the purpose of using militia forces to quell uprisings. We as a country do not require the Second Amendment to protect us anymore.
The big question is, how do we achieve the elimination of all guns with the exception of law enforcement and armed services personnel? Congress could declare a month for the giving up of all firearms. They could be deposited at police stations and other government offices, and those who don't comply would be heavily fined and face jail time. |

Confiscation of private property, huh. Some collectors have spent a lifetime accumulating arms. Others collect knives, cars, motorcycles, all have or can be used in crimes. Yup, I'll willingly drop off my guns at the PD, right after Jay Leno turns in all his cars ahead of me. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
You are bound to meet misfortune if you are unarmed because, among other reasons, people despise you....There is simply no comparison between a man who is armed and one who is not. It is unreasonable to expect that an armed man should obey one who is unarmed, or that an unarmed man should remain safe and secure when his servants are armed. In the latter case, there will be suspicion on the one hand and contempt on the other, making cooperation impossible. — Niccolo Machiavelli in "The Prince." |
