"During a July 26 appearance on CBS News’ Face the Nation, Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) acknowledged that [the] alleged Lafayette gunman ... did not do 'anything wrong' in the way he acquired his firearm, yet still posited a need to 'use the weight of the government' to bring about better gun control." ... -------
Submitter's Note: "Nothing wrong"? Seriously? How about the felony the shooter committed in lying on his 4473 or the multiple felonies he committed being a "prohibited person" in possession of a gun and ammunition? |

Seems to me the senator already has what he wants. It just doesn't work, as we've had ample examples of already this summer! Like most progressive elites he'd rather write legislation than enforce existing laws or work to correct their faults. Not much bandwidth in being a repairman, I suppose. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern peoples to have arms. History teaches that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so. Indeed I would go so far as to say that the underdog is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty. So let's not have any native militia or police. German troops alone will bear the sole responsibility for the maintenance of law and order. — Adolf Hitler, April 11, 1942.
