This past April, Gov. Doug Ducey signed a law declaring Arizona a “Second Amendment sanctuary state” — the law prevents the state of Arizona, its counties and municipalities from enforcing any federal gun laws that supersede those of the state’s. Ducey said the bill was “a proactive law for what is possible to come out of the Biden administration."
On June 22, the Tucson City Council passed a unanimous resolution that "federal laws or regulations that regulate firearms will have full effect within the city” — essentially saying the city of Tucson will not ignore federal firearms laws as per the state’s Second Amendment Firearm Freedom Act. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
Besides the advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation, the existence of subordinate governments, to which the people are attached, and by which the militia officers are appointed, forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition, more insurmountable than any which a simple government of any form can admit of. Notwithstanding the military establishments in the several kingdoms of Europe, which are carried as far as the public resources will bear, the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. — James Madison, The Federalist Papers, No. 46 |
