9mm and 10mm are only a "mm" apart but are worlds apart and are two different worlds entirely. The 10mm is not even in contention for "most people" and only appeals to stronger guys. The only thing missing from the title of this article was the word "roundup."
"Most people" will always gravitate towards the 9mm luger aka 9x19 for so many reasons: lower cost and better availability of guns and ammo, and not excessive recoil. 9mm has been the "starter standard" and "familiarity standard" for generations. It's also government's standard since government has unlimited cash to make a standard. |

TO REMEMBER |
| Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any bands of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States. — Noah Webster in "An Examination into the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution," 1787, in Paul Ford, ed., Pamphlets on the Constitution of the United States, at p. 56 (New York, 1888). |
