The October 2021 print issue of The Atlantic features an article by David Frum claiming that responsible gun ownership is a lie.
Loyal AmmoLand News readers know that Frum is the one who is lying. In fact, Frum’s article has a buffet of triple whoppers with bacon and cheese (apologies to the Burger King menu item). That said, this is an important article to read and understand.
Why? Because Frum is not talking to us, or even trying to convince us. Instead, his audience is others among the usual Acela Corridor/Hollywood/Silicon Valley elites, who are eyeing potential Supreme Court rulings in cases like New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. Bruen with no small degree of dread. |

Give up my guns? I will consider it when we go an entire year without hearing about anyone being made a victim of violent crime somewhere in the US. I will consider it when terrorist groups like ANTIFA are rapidly put down any time they choose to do what they do. No taking over neighborhoods, no rioting, no looting, no battery... nothing but a very quick and long trip to jail. I will consider it if we can go an entire year without hearing of any tyrannical government action at the federal, state, or local level within the country. This includes proposals and speeches and plans that never get enacted.
It shouldn't be just a year, though. Any time there is any possibility of these things happening is a time when we do not give up our guns. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
By calling attention to a well-regulated militia for the security of the Nation, and the right of each citizen to keep and bear arms, our Founding Fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy. Although it is extremely unlikely that the fears of governmental tyranny, which gave rise to the second amendment, will ever be a major danger to our Nation, the amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic military-civilian relationships, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of the country. For that reason I believe the second amendment will always be important. --JOHN F. KENNEDY |
