The full Minnesota House may soon vote on a bill expanding the right to use firearms to protect yourself. Often called a Stand Your Ground law, HF 238 would legalize the use of deadly force if a person feels their life is threatened, or in the defense of a crime in one's home.
The bill had a hearing earlier this month in the House Public Safety Committee and was re-introduced Tuesday with no testimony. The bill passed on a 9-6 vote. |

Note how they conflate SYG with the Castle Doctrine?
Blurring the lines to keep the public misinformed is what they do. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
No kingdom can be secured otherwise than by arming the people. The possession of arms is the distinction between a freeman and a slave. He, who has nothing, and who himself belongs to another, must be defended by him, whose property he is, and needs no arms. But he, who thinks he is his own master, and has what he can call his own, ought to have arms to defend himself, and what he possesses; else he lives precariously, and at discretion. — James Burgh, Political Disquisitions: Or, an Enquiry into Public Errors, Defects, and Abuses [London, 1774-1775]. |
