The White House's Bold Plan to Develop Smart Guns for Cops

The Obama administration released a multi-part plan late last week to spur further research into making reliable smart gun technology and potentially integrating it into law enforcement in the future. The smart guns the report specifies are firearms that have some form of safety technology that only allows authorized people to fire the weapon. This could be a biometric fingerprint scanner on a grip that only allows the gun to fire when there's a match or a gun that can only be fired when in close proximity to a connected bracelet or ring.

Obama,

Why don't you order your secret service detail to use smart guns if you think they are so good?

force cops so trickles down to Populace if "perfected in actual practice", then 'emotionally & logically' majority (50.1%, all liberals) accepted/acceptable...an Infringement, another complexity step between, to separate People from Their Right, who controls the "rings and bracelets"?, I don't want to wear one, it's faggoty, and certain professions can't for safety & hygiene reasons (i.e. machinist, dentist).
No, but seriously this is the biggest gun control threat for the future because
1.easily be jammed from long distance like any cellphone (same tech detonated IEDs in Iraq/Afgh. from distance).
2. The circuit board can be fried/destroyed from a distance by same tech (see #1.)
3. An iranian EMP or any nuke or any current

(or unknown/classified) US Military EMP [test rig vortex generator kit] miniaturized to police usage will render Populace disarmed
3. The damn battery.
4. so a rare earth magnet will replace battery? SO WHAT In liberal areas, if stolen, tracing to you foolproof, can't be filed off like serial #, you'll never buy another one AND you'll pay a fine, go to jail. Glue or weld the damn ring/bracelet to gun, now what ?

Thanks for nothing Mossberg:

"The main component of Mossberg’s system is a ring that will control the firing mechanism of a gun. The easy-to-wear piece of jewelry contains proprietary technology that will communicate with a circuit board installed on the firearm. When the ring is within centimeters of the gun, the embedded sensor

system will recognize the ring and unlock the gun for immediate use. Mossberg says the technology has been tested more than 3,000 times without failure."

yep it's a damn battery:
"If the code matches certain other conditions are met, an electric current from the battery bank actuates a mechanism to unblock the trigger."

what if dropped in water/submerged, mud, fine iraq/desert/new mexico/california, arizona/nevada sand, dirt, cold weather, hot weather, it has a capacitor? (1st to fail, bulge, overheat)....how about shitty Chinese soldering prevalent on everything we buy, those crack through, separate, tarnish, and corrode all the time. Cheap circuit boards crack if stared at harshly.
What if live in high humidity areas where tools rust in minutes w/o Air Conditioning or grease on?
What if battery explodes like did in your flashlight last week, cementing itself in your $20 maglite as if

superglue-you shock pounded for days w/o distorting aluminum, and to no avail, battery became one with the device?
How many electronic devices have you had just drop dead?

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
As an individual, I believe, very strongly, that handguns should be banned and that there should be stringent, effective control of other firearms. However, as a judge, I know full well that the question of whether handguns can be sold is a political one, not an issue of products liability law, and that this is a matter for the legislatures, not the courts. The unconventional theories advanced in this case (and others) are totally without merit, a misuse of products liability laws. — Judge Buchmeyer, Patterson v. Gesellschaft, 1206 F.Supp. 1206, 1216 (N.D. Tex. 1985)
