A man is dead and two people are on the loose after police say an armed robbery attempt was prevented with a self-defense shooting.
The incident occurred around 9:25 p.m. on the east side of an apartment complex near Spencer Street and East Tropicana Avenue, according to Metro Lt. Dan McGrath. A man and woman were exiting their car when three black males came up – one holding a gun – and tried to take the woman’s purse.
The driver had his own gun and shot and killed the suspect. The other two men left the scene. |

Another prospective attorney cut down by someone valuing their property than a human life. Or, another future enrollee in the "Advanced Criminal Training" program at a prison near you. Take your pick. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
"Secrecy is the keystone of all tyranny. Not force, but secrecy ... censorship. When any government, or any church, for that matter, undertakes to say to it's subjects, 'This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know,' the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives. Mighty little force is needed to control a man whose mind has been hoodwinked; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, a man whose mind is free. No, not the rack, not fission bombs, not anything. You cannot conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him." --Robert A. Heinlein, "Revolt in 2100" (Pg. 68-69, Baen Books paperback edition, 1999 printing) |
