"I support the Second Amendment. I believe people should be allowed to own firearms and I believe they should be permitted to buy as many as they want, with 50 billion rounds of ammunition to go along with those guns if they feel that's what they need to feel safe after the sun goes down."
"What I don't support is the ridiculous lack of laws governing background checks for private transactions. Licensed firearms dealers are mandated to run background checks before they sell a firearm to anyone, but the law in 33 states doesn't extend to private sales."
"That's a problem." ... |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
"Let us contemplate our forefathers, and posterity, and resolve to maintain the rights bequeathed to us from the former, for the sake of the latter. The necessity of the times, more than ever, calls for our utmost circumspection, deliberation, fortitude, and perseverance. Let us remember that `if we suffer tamely a lawless attack upon our liberty, we encourage it, and involve others in our doom.' It is a very serious consideration...that millions yet unborn may be the miserable sharers of the event." --Samuel Adams, speech in Boston, 1771 |
