It’s so obvious it shouldn’t have to go on a billboard, but it’s a sign of the times that such a statement needs to be flashed on a 670-square-foot digital screen so that thousands of sets of eyes can see it each day. “Guns left in cars get stolen.” That’s the message from Daytona Beach police Chief Craig Capri, who for more than a year has warned the public against keeping firearms inside unlocked vehicles. Last week, the digital billboard featuring his face next to the aforementioned sentence was unveiled at the corner of Mason and Highland avenues. |

Guns left in cars (or in homes) get stolen.
Stolen guns are a problem, because criminals are the ones who steal and then use them to commit more crimes.
So, the anti-gun folks will (as they have demonstrated they are wont to do) enact laws criminalizing the storage of guns in cars.
They also will criminalize the possession of guns in many "special" locations.
It will become impossible to carry one's firearm anywhere (and isn't that the goal), essentially regulating (infringing) the 2nd Amendment out of existence. |

'Want to cut down on guns being stolen from cars? Eliminate gun-free zones and folks won't be forced to leave their guns in their cars instead of carrying them.
There! See how easy that was? |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
"Some people think that the Second Amendment is an outdated relic of an earlier time. Doubtless some also think that constitutional protections of other rights are outdated relics of earlier times. We The People own those rights regardless, unless and until We The People repeal them. For those who believe it to be outdated, the Second Amendment provides a good test of whether their allegiance is really to the Constitution of the United States, or only to their preferences in public policies and audiences. The Constitution is law, not vague aspirations, and we are obligated to protect, defend, and apply it. If the Second Amendment were truly an outdated relic, the Constitution provides a method for repeal. The Constitution does not furnish the federal courts with an eraser." --9th Circuit Court Judge Andrew Kleinfeld, dissenting opinion in which the court refused to rehear the case while citing deeply flawed anti-Second Amendment nonsense (Nordyke v. King; opinion filed April 5, 2004) |
