The Giffords Law Center released its nationwide, annual gun law scorecard.
The study graded states by their gun safety measures and 2018 gun violence statistics.
The center is a nationally known policy organization that has supported the reduction of gun violence through stricter gun laws.
The center said gun violence kills more than 1,000 Michigan residents each year.
It gave Michigan a letter grade of "C" and ranked the state 16 out of 50.
The study said Michigan's gun related death rank is 37 out of 50.
The study also found that Michigan's gun violence has disproportionately impacted communities of color.

Maybe if we passed a law against violent guns, there'd be no more gun violence..... |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
"Secrecy is the keystone of all tyranny. Not force, but secrecy ... censorship. When any government, or any church, for that matter, undertakes to say to it's subjects, 'This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know,' the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives. Mighty little force is needed to control a man whose mind has been hoodwinked; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, a man whose mind is free. No, not the rack, not fission bombs, not anything. You cannot conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him." --Robert A. Heinlein, "Revolt in 2100" (Pg. 68-69, Baen Books paperback edition, 1999 printing) |
