I am quite sure that the individual who gave this idiot the handgun was probably not legal to possess a handgun either so both should be prosecuted and given the maximum penalty. What really burns my onion about this is that anti-gunners will use this incident to tar permit holders with the same brush when no permit holder would even think about being involved with this moronic stunt. Pro-rights people should come out and voice their desires for prosecution and the maximum sentence for this Darwin award candidate. I am just glad no one was hurt in this fools tale, a sentiment that I am sure most gun owners share with me. |

Yup, I'm for rights but also for swift justice for being irresponsible. Throw the book at this guy. |

How is this different than the MI: Deputy Who Fired Gun in School Tried to 'Destroy Evidence,' Police Say in a following news link?
One can argue that firing a gun in a school is worse than firing a gun in a night club rest room. This guy was arrested, but the Michigan Deputy is on paid vacation. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? [...] The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!" —Alexander Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago (Chapter 1 "Arrest") |
