She said the legislation included universal background checks and a ban on gun purchases for Americans with a history of hate crimes.
The congresswoman said it’s the Senate that hasn’t taken up the issue, preventing the bill from going any further.
“I hope we can find unity on fundamental pieces of legislation. Not to limit their second amendment rights, and not to change their ability to own a gun. But we have to have this debate in this country,” Escobar said. |
