During the January 2 airing of The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer on CNN, Blitzer brought up Chicago’s near-800 homicides during 2016 and blamed the deaths on Indiana gun laws. Representative Darrell Issa (R-CA-49) was the guest, and Blitzer looked at him and said, “There were more people murdered this past year in Chicago than in New York, a larger city, and Los Angeles, a larger city, combined. Something is obviously very, very wrong in Chicago.” |

The problem is not guns. The problem is the feral low life, most but not all are minorities, that have no respect for anything including human life.
Most of them already have criminal records and have gotten expert at gamming the judicial system. One program that would work at reducing crime would be to lock them up, but the government does not have the fortitude to come up with the resources to do so.

Unfortunately, the liberal judicial system abets the problem by placing restrictions on inmate treatment in prison that adds to the cost of incarceration. As far as I am concerned, if you can shove them in and still close the door, the jail isn't full yet.
These people are committing murder because someone "dissed" them, committing untold number of rapes, assaults, armed robberies, burglaries, and other property crimes. These are not no harm, no foul crimes.
Too many times they get out on bail or probation and go right back to committing crimes.

Most of them already have criminal records and should be in jail. As long as the system keeps letting them out on bail and probation the problem will continue. One could easily conclude that the government won't prosecute the criminals to the extent that they could because it doesn't suit their agenda.

So Chicago with strict gun control laws has high gun crime but Indiana with liberal gun control laws and high gun ownership have low gun crime is at fault. Liberal Logic at its best produced by fake news network CNN. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small, complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd. — Alexis de Tocqueville |
