"97% of American voters support universal background checks"
If any law, no matter how stupid or useless, had 97 percent support Congress would drop everything else and pass it. At the same time, Legislatures across the country would be passing state versions.
But that's not happening. There are eight anti-gun states, six in the Northeast, California, and Hawaii. Most of the other 42 states are busy loosening gun laws.
