McGraw pushed back, giving a statement to the Washington Post explaining his intent: "As a gun owner, I support gun ownership. I also believe that with gun ownership comes the responsibility of education and safety — most certainly when it relates to what we value most, our children. I can't imagine anyone who disagrees with that."
He said he had seen firsthand how the Sandy Hook tragedy affected families and felt their pain. One of McGraw's band members has friends who lost a son in the Dec. 14, 2012, incident in which 20 students and six teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School were gunned down in a mass shooting.

Just like Democrats. Instead of empowering individuals, they want to form a "committee" to "study" what should be done.
