... "Let everyone in this country keep their guns, but force them to insure those guns. It seems so obvious when you think about it. We insure our cars, our houses, our boats and bodies, even our plane tickets and rental cars. And some of those policies are legally mandated. We should absolutely require gun owners to pay against the indemnity they might incur when their gun does what it is statistically most likely to do – kills or injures them, or someone else." ... -------
H/t to David Codrea who says:
No. We will not comply. I don't even need to read the rest of the details. Just "No."
Your move, David Ferguson. Now what? Be specific. What are you going to do, have others arrest me? How do you even know what I have? What about the millions more who will not comply? You know about them, don't you? Or are you truly that cloistered?
Come on, flesh it out. I want to see just how bloodthirsty you can be, as long as it's not your precious hindquarters on the line. |

If this guy ever took a statistics course, he must have failed it. Most of the 350 or so million guns in private ownership in the US will never be used to shoot someone. Statistically speaking, they will be used for hunting, target shooting or remain locked up. Only a small fraction of guns are ever used in crimes and shootings, and the ones used in mass shootings are an infinitesimal percentage.
And does anyone actually believe that the criminals, gang bangers, and street punks will purchase insurance for their guns? Not very likely. So instead, the law abiding gun owners should bear the complete cost of gun crime. |

why should I pay, and be penalized for black crime, how racist is that? Even car insurance *partially* mitigates the bastard children....unless you've run into crooked revenuing kops to tilt scales o' justus, whose judge/JOTP will rubber stamp (both OR & WA), unless you had a 'driver cam' that can disprove the kop's automatic 51% share of The Truth (here in King County, can't speak for others, not a lawyer) AND you are willing to go nose 2 nose w/ judge who wants his damn money now. For peripheral items-you don't own a printer, printer was inop while your insurance co. is a new cheap upstart in a liberal bastion that doesn't do snail mail & you HAVE to print insurance card from online...guess what, King County has a fine for that too: $25. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
Those, who have the command of the arms in a country are masters of the state, and have it in their power to make what revolutions they please. [Thus,] there is no end to observations on the difference between the measures likely to be pursued by a minister backed by a standing army, and those of a court awed by the fear of an armed people. — Aristotle, as quoted by John Trenchard and Water Moyle, An Argument Shewing, That a Standing Army Is Inconsistent with a Free Government, and Absolutely Destructive to the Constitution of the English Monarchy [London, 1697]. |
