President Donald Trump will deliver a strong sign of support for the National Rifle Association at its annual meeting on Friday, as gun-rights advocates regroup in the wake of the mass shooting at a Florida high school.
Trump’s address in Dallas will be his fourth in a row to the group’s annual convention. “You came through for me and I am going to come through for you,” he said at last year’s gathering in Atlanta. The NRA spent $30 million in support of Trump’s 2016 campaign, lending him credibility with some conservatives. |

“Take the guns first, go through due process second.”
Which is a blatant violation of the 5th Amendment.
Apparently, his legal counsel appraised him of that fact, and he backed off.
Good on him. |

TO REMEMBER |
As civil rulers, not having their duty to the people before them, may attempt to tyrannize, and as the military forces which must be occasionally raised to defend our country, might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow citizens, the people are confirmed by the article in their right to keep and bear their private arms. — Tench Coxe in `Remarks on the First Part of the Amendments to the Federal Constitution' under the Pseudonym "A Pennsylvanian" in the Philadelphia Federal Gazette, June 18, 1789 at 2 col. 1. |
