Instead of more gun control laws, how about prosecuting the criminals. As it stands now, criminals arrested for having a stolen firearm, or felon in possession are out on bail before the arresting office finishes his shift. Add in plea bargaining and probation and there is no punishment.
The criminals are not dumb. They realize that the risk of serious prison time for possession of stolen firearms is non existent.
