It sounds like a small-caliber "sledgehammer"... maybe just a two-pound ENGINEER'S hammer in this case. The uneducated press seems to like to exaggerate certain weapons: .223 are "high power" rifles, and so on.
If the homeowner had used an 8- or 12-pounder and had gotten a real swing on it, it's more than likely there would have been a different outcome. |
