"If someone's constitutional rights are infringed, it's up to the courts to take action, not this board," Kelly said.
Au contraire. If someone's constitutional rights are infringed, the injury has already occurred. The purpose of these resolutions is to preempt that violation of rights.
Kelly's statement puts the cart before the horse; in real terms, people's lives will be ruined with little to no probability of being rebuilt.
Case in point: Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn. His reputation has been destroyed, his lifetime of accrued assets totally depleted, and even if his case is reversed and/or thrown out, he's SCREWED.
That is not what life in America is supposed to be like.
It's atrocious, and unacceptable. |

| Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands? — Patrick Henry, 3 J. Elliot, Debates in the Several State Conventions 45, 2d ed. Philadelphia, 1836 |
