One big problem gun-ban activists struggle with is that sometimes they mess up and tell the truth about their goals, even during the election season. As an example, take a recent campaign event for U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, held in Amarillo, Texas. As background, NRA-PVF A-rated Cruz is facing an F-rated challenger in Democrat Beto O’Rourke. At the Amarillo event, a pompous, loud-mouthed O’Rourke supporter infiltrated the crowd and loudly argued with Cruz on several points—one of which was gun ownership. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.— Benjamin Franklin Historical Review of Pennsylvania. [Note: This sentence was often quoted in the Revolutionary period. It occurs even so early as November, 1755, in an answer by the Assembly of Pennsylvania to the Governor, and forms the motto of Franklin's "Historical Review," 1759, appearing also in the body of the work. — Frothingham: Rise of the Republic of the United States, p. 413. ] |
