"As college students enter and return to universities this fall, it's a good time to address guns on college campuses. Gun rights have become a lightning rod for many conversations and political views. While our nation has always had the Second Amendment guaranteeing the right to keep and bear arms, this issue has become more volatile."
"There is nothing wrong with guns when used appropriately and safely. However, our nation seems so focused on increasing gun availability that we forget that guns are not the answer to all our problems."
"I do not see the need for college students to be armed on campus, a place where learning and mental growth should be the focus. ..." ... |

No need to have guns for self protection on campus. There are signs that say no guns everywhere at the university. Nobody will ever carry a gun, knife, or rape on campus. You know, its illegal. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.' The right of the whole people, old and young, men, women and boys, and not militia only, to keep and bear arms of every description, and not such merely as are used by the militia, shall not be infringed, curtailed, or broken in upon, in the smallest degree; and all this for the important end to be attained: the rearing up and qualifying a well-regulated militia, so vitally necessary to the security of a free State. Our opinion is that any law, State or Federal, is repugnant to the Constitution, and void, which contravenes this right. [Nunn vs. State, 1 Ga. (1 Kel.) 243, at 251 (1846)] |
