Forced to choose, would you rather have a sign in your front yard announcing you are a proud gun owner, or one that your home is a gun-free zone? For gun advocates, the choice is obvious: As widely-discredited researcher John Lott frequently opines, “Criminals see victims in gun-free zones as sitting ducks. Even the most ardent gun control advocate would not put ‘Gun-Free Zone’ signs on their home. Let’s finally stop putting them elsewhere.” |

What an idiot.
I would bet $100 at 10 to 1 odds that he doesn't have a sign in his yard announcing that he does not have guns in his house.
And the only people discrediting John Lott's research are the same brain dead liberals. They discredit it on the basis of their feelings, not on any facts. You want discredited research, look at the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Yes, criminals steal guns, but in many instances they leave them behind because they are too identifiable and all but guarantee a conviction if they are caught.
And even if he denies it, this idiot benefits from gun owners. Ask any criminal. The thing he fears most is not the police or the courts, it is running up against an armed individual. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
I do believe that where there is a choice only between cowardice and violence, I would advise violence. Thus when my eldest son asked me what he should have done had he been present when I was almost fatally assaulted in 1908 [by an Indian extremist opposed to Gandhi's agreement with Smuts], whether he should have run away and seen me killed or whether he should have used his physical force which he could and wanted to use, and defend me, I told him it was his duty to defend me even by using violence. Hence it was that I took part in the Boer War, the so-called Zulu Rebellion and [World War I]. Hence also do I advocate training in arms for those who believe in the method of violence. I would rather have India resort to arms in order to defend her honor than that she should in a cowardly manner become or remain a helpless witness to her own dishonor. — Mohandas K. Gandhi, Young India, August 11, 1920 from Fischer, Louis ed.,The Essential Gandhi, 1962 |
