Pickett’s sculptures are an attempt to lampoon and take some of the power out of guns — which he fears. His aim is to inspire viewers to think about and discuss issues of gun violence. “I think we need to reevaluate the gun laws in this country. Not everyone gets to have a driver’s license, and not everyone should be able to own a gun,” he said. “People ask me why I make these sculptures if I’m so afraid of guns, and I guess it’s because it is a way to face my fears.” He grew up hearing gunshots every weekend in his neighborhood, and when he was eleven years old, his uncle tried to shoot him. |

Yet another lefty boob who either doesn't understand or willfully rejects the First Principles upon which this nation was founded, and which provide the liberty for him to spout his nonsense.
Ingratitude, much? |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. ~ Marcus Tullius Cicero (42B.C) |
