Will there ever be a solution to the firearms violence that has swept our country in recent years? Thousands of scholars, police, legislators and ordinary citizens have been working on ideas to reduce gun violence. But I don’t hear of many persons betting their grocery money on when the shootings will stop or even diminish. |

Get rid of all those icky guns. Yep, just look at how well that's working over in Great Britain. That evil NRA spending millions on politicians, but not a peep about the billions spent by outfits like public service unions and Planned Parenthood. Typical gun banner magic thinking that making a law that only law abiding will follow can somehow make us safe from those who think nothing of breaking every law on the books. |

The elimination of a fundamental right is not fodder for wry humor.

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
"Secrecy is the keystone of all tyranny. Not force, but secrecy ... censorship. When any government, or any church, for that matter, undertakes to say to it's subjects, 'This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know,' the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives. Mighty little force is needed to control a man whose mind has been hoodwinked; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, a man whose mind is free. No, not the rack, not fission bombs, not anything. You cannot conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him." --Robert A. Heinlein, "Revolt in 2100" (Pg. 68-69, Baen Books paperback edition, 1999 printing) |
